Our beloved Matilda (Tilly) Goncalves suddenly passed away on March 24, 2023 at Roger Williams Hospital in Providence, Rhode Island.
She was the loving life partner of Charles (Raymond) Mitchell. A mother of the late: Dominique Goncalves. She will be sadly missed by her daughter of whom she was so proud of, Sierra Andrade, as well as her bonus daughters Rayshell and Bridgette Mitchell. She will be missed dearly by her 2 siblings: Kimberly (Kim) Chin and Heloisa (Holly) Goncalves. She leaves behind her 3 nieces: Aryanna, Milanna (Mingy) Ming Lai, Charlize (Charlie), her nephew: Jason and her grandson: Geovanni. Tilly was born on October 12, 1977 in Providence, Rhode Island. Tilly resided in Providence, Rhode Island. She graduated from North Providence High School in North Providence, Rhode Island. She was the daughter of Manuel Goncalves and Dee Andrade. She was predeceased by her stepfather Manuel Andrade. She was the granddaughter of the late: paternal grandparents Alvaro and Maria Goncalves and maternal grandparents Antonio and Laura Lopes. Further survived and remembered by her extended family and friends.

Tilly will be fondly remembered by family and friends as a true nurturer. She loved cooking and serving others which she seasoned everything with love. Tilly will be missed by Khloe, her beloved cat, who laid by her side until her very last day. Tilly is joined with her late dear cat, Ju Ju. Tilly was very passionate about the latest fashion trend and a fond cosmetic collector. She enjoyed spending time at beaches savoring seafood. Her favorite beach to visit was Galilee Beach. She enjoyed grilling outside and staying abreast with reality tv shows. Tilly had a sweet tooth, and she could survive on coffee, candies and chocolates for weeks. Above all, Tilly found the beauty in life. Her last memory before she passed away was to spoil the recent birth of her grandson- Geovanni and her niece- Charlize.

A Celebration of Life will be a gathering of close family and friends, held at Keefe Funeral Home in Lincoln, Rhode Island on March 31, 2023 from 9am-12pm with a service at 11:30am. Following the service, A repass will be held at the Knights of Columbus in North Providence, Rhode Island. An additional private scattering ceremony for Tilly’s ashes will occur in the summer at Galilee Beach.
